a little pang

Today my heart hurts a little bit. I’m not exactly sure why. It was only four days ago we were laughing in each others arms. Fourteen days to go until we can be in that place again. Can I make it? I’m such a wimp. Today I just have a lump in my throat and envy in my veins when I see couples hand in hand. How can I make this easier?  There’s sand in my stomach and an empty space next to me when I sleep. I know, “one day at a time,” is what you’d say. I know, we do the best we can.
